One boy is in a life-threatening condition after an e-scooter fall on Frensham Road, Norwich, on Monday. Police want witnesses and dashcam footage.
Two boys were seriously injured when they fell from an e-scooter on Frensham Road in Norwich on Monday morning. One of them is in hospital in a life-threatening condition.
Norfolk Police published an appeal for witnesses on its own website at 11.39am on Tuesday 6 October.
What the police have said
The force’s statement sets out what is known so far:
- The fall happened at around 11.29am on Monday 5 October.
- The two boys are believed to have been travelling on an e-scooter on Frensham Road.
- “For reasons yet to be established”, both fell from the scooter and were seriously injured.
- One boy was taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge in a life-threatening condition. The force says he remains there.
- The second boy was taken to the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital with serious injuries. He has since been discharged.
The police have not given the boys’ ages or said where they are from. They have not said whether any other vehicle or person was involved, and they have not announced any arrest. We have not added anything the force has not said.
Where it happened
Frensham Road runs through the Sweet Briar Road industrial estate in the NR3 postcode, in the north-west of the city. It leaves Hellesdon Hall Road at its northern end, close to the A140 Sweet Briar Road, and links to Page Road, Brunel Way and Elvin Way.
