Amy Morris, Miss Norfolk 2026, competes in the televised Miss England sports round on Sunday 4 October, six weeks before the national final on 17 November.

Amy Morris, the singer and vocal coach who is Miss Norfolk 2026, will represent the county in the Miss England sports round in Leicester this Sunday, 4 October. She says the round will be televised.

It is a step on the way to the Miss England final on 17 November, where she will also represent Norfolk. Amy, who runs her own business as well as performing and teaching singing, told us the sports round is a long way from the stages she is used to.

“Give me a microphone and I’m absolutely fine”

Her working life, she says, normally revolves around music, performing and helping other people build their confidence. Since winning the Norfolk title she has taken on a run of new challenges in the build-up to the final, and Sunday is the least familiar of them.

“This whole experience has been about pushing myself outside my comfort zone,” Amy said. “Give me a microphone and I’m absolutely fine; give me a sports challenge and suddenly I’m questioning all of my life choices!

“But I really want to throw myself into every part of Miss England and make Norfolk proud. For me, confidence isn’t about being brilliant at everything. Sometimes it’s about having a go, laughing at yourself and doing something that scares you a little bit.”

What comes next

The sports round is one of several stages before the final. Over the coming weeks Amy will take part in further Miss England activities and in fundraising as she builds towards 17 November.

She also wants the county involved. Amy says the run to the final is a chance to put Norfolk in the spotlight and to bring in as many local people and businesses as she can.

“I’d absolutely love Norfolk to get behind me,” she said. “I’m incredibly proud to be representing the county, and I want this whole journey to feel like something we can all be part of.”
