East Anglia's first LEGO Store opens at Chantry Place at 9am on Thursday 29 October, with a free limited edition tile and a free mini build if you spend £35.

Norwich’s LEGO Store opens at 9am today, Thursday 29 October, on the upper ground level of Chantry Place.

Chantry Place calls it East Anglia’s first LEGO Store. The shop is at Units 201A and 201B, and the centre says it can be reached directly from Chantry Square (LEGO; Chantry Place).

Norwich City Council’s retail survey release last week named a LEGO store among the arrivals still to come, without a date. That survey found the city centre’s shop vacancy rate had fallen to 9.8%.

What is on offer on opening days

Chantry Place set out the opening arrangements in a notice on 28 October:

  • a free limited edition LEGO tile for customers, while stocks last
  • a free LEGO Technic Hot Rod mini build if you spend £35 or more between 29 and 31 October, while stocks last
  • a Norwich stamp for your LEGO passport; the passports are free in the store if you do not have one

What is in the store

Chantry Place’s store listing names:

  • play tables
  • a Pick a Brick wall
  • a Build a Minifigure tower
  • “Wow” display models
  • exclusive sets

LEGO’s store page also lists its first workshop. Visitors can build a LEGO Flower Candle and take it home on Saturday 7 November, 10am to 12pm, and Sunday 8 November, 12pm to 2pm. Check the store page for how to book.

Opening hours

LEGO gives the store’s hours as:

Day Hours
Monday to Saturday 9am to 6pm
Sunday 10.30am to 4.30pm

Those match the centre’s core hours. The store’s phone number is still listed as “TBC”.

What it means for you

  • Going today: the store opens at 9am. Chantry Place says its car park opens at 8.30am as usual, with no change to its hours. Use the postcode NR2 1SF for the car park.
  • The freebies run out: the tile and the mini build are both “while stocks last”, and the mini build offer ends on 31 October.
  • Parking: our Norwich parking guide has the city car park prices and the park and ride sites.
